Nature Club

Avani is another name of earth. As the name suggests this club was formed with an aim to bridge the gap between concrete environment and nature.

The natural world is a giant, open-ended learning laboratory and the children are innate scientists and love to experience the sights, scents, sounds and textures of the outdoors. So nature club provide a myriad of oppurtunities for discovery, creativity, and problem-solving capacity to the students. So we have to keep in mind the slogan “When we heal the earth; we heal ourselves”.

We know nature is an antidote for stress it can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety and improve mood. So nature club aims to encourage the students to participate in a variety of conservation initiatives. It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence and engage their peer and neighbourhood communities to promote sound towards environmental behaviour. The club offers program and activities to encourage others to reduce pollution, plant trees and to tackle environmental problems through public awareness campaigns. The club motivates the participants to care about the environment as a volunteer to keep our earth healthy and green.

The club is trying to organize nature tour in and around Thrissur, like zoo, KFRI etc. This brings about a change from the routine lifestyle and students carry the memory of these tours lifelong. Such tours and expedition create an awareness for various environmental issues.

Nature club has been set up with the following objectives:
