The film club of Mother Arts & Science College, Peruvallur, is a great way to explore many films and study film as an art. This club was formed to inculcate a love of watching films among students. The club aims to train the students to become active viewers of cinema. The club was developed to provide students with the ability to create their own film projects. It updates the knowledge of students about various perceptions of films. Film Club provides various workshops, seminars, and webinars for the students to develop skills in editing, filming, and writing. Students were also given opportunities to create their own short films.

 

Major Objectives:

·         To build editing, directing, writing, and film-related skills among students.

 

·         To conduct film-related academic activities.

 

·         To explore many films and study film as an art.

 

Students from all departments interested in Cinema gather together at the Film Club to watch cinema and exchange views about the technical, social, and political aspects of the same. It’s not only a place to get a deeper understanding of the art form but also a platform to enter into conversation with the very history of the world. It forms a public sphere where students enter into open discussions, often debating over conflicting views, making them understand the basic values of democracy. The club is centered on watching quality films and having discussions and debates. The movies selected are always award-winning and receive critical acclaim. Our club offers several opportunities for students to present their talents and improve their skills. In addition to learning many methods off-screen and on-screen, our club also offers several chances to perform. You’ll have the chance to meet new people who share your passion, who love watching movies and discussing them, and to make lasting friendships and create unforgettable memories. The Film Club provides students with the opportunity to be part of something fun, creative, and sociable.
